The municipality of Lyubimats is located in the eastern part of Haskovo region.It occupies a territory of 335km ².The east border is the municipality of Svilengrad and Greece, the south is Municipality of Ivailovgrad  and the west - municipalities of Harmanli and Madjarovo.The population of the municipality is over 11 800 people.Average geographic density is 32/km ².

The municipality has a good transport position.Through the municipal territory and Lyubimets town pass an international road E-80,which connects the Western and Central Europe.Along Lyubimets will pass a highway "Maritsa", which has the same dirrection as E-80.Besides the road corridor , through municipal territory pass and railway line of Western and Central Europe.
